How do I hear the voice of God? Read the following Scriptures and ask yourself: What do these verses teach me about God and His Word? Why is the Bible so significant to us as believers?
Proverbs 30:5 (NIV)
“Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”
Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV)
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
Reflect: Being in God’s Word daily is like an ongoing conversation with a close friend. The better we know God’s Word, the better we can hear His voice when He speaks to us. Meditate on one truth from a verse above that gave you fresh insight.
