I'm Scared

Psalm 13 is a short but powerful psalm where David is struggling and asking God how much longer he'll have to wait for help. David feels like God has forgotten him and is hiding his face from him. David is feeling discouraged, worried that his enemies will win and that he'll be defeated.

But, even in the midst of all this pain, David still trusts in God. He declares that he will keep believing in God, and that he knows God will eventually help him. It's a reminder that even when things seem impossible and we feel alone, God is still there, and we can always trust in him.

Guided prayer: “God, I’m scared and I feel so alone. I don’t know how I’m going to make it through this. Please be with me and silence my fear. Remind me of your strength and power in my life, and comfort me with your presence. Amen.”

Psalm 13
How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I take counsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;

light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,

lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”

lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.

But I have trusted in your steadfast love;

my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

I will sing to the Lord,

because he has dealt bountifully with me.
