As we head into worship this morning, let’s reflect on what we have learned about the Kingdom of God this week.
The Kingdom of God is …
- Everlasting (Daniel 4:3, Psalm 145:13)
- Ruled by the Lord and rules over all other kingdoms (1 Ch. 29:11)
- Glorified by His creation (Psalm 145:11)
- At hand, near (Matthew 3:2)
- In the midst of you (Luke 17:21)
- Not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 13:14-17)
- Not of this world (John 18:36)
- Unshakeable (Hebrews 12:28)
It will …
- Never be destroyed, or left to another people (Daniel 2:44-45)
- Break in pieces all other kingdoms and bring them to an end (Daniel 2:44-45)
- Stand forever (Daniel 2:44-45)
- Have no end (Luke 1:32-33)
Who will inherit the kingdom?
- Children, or those having childlike humility (Matthew 18:1-4)
- The poor (poverty of spirit) in the world (James 2:5 & Matthew 3:5)
- Those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake (Matthew 3:10)
- Those born again of water and spirit (John 3:3-5)
- The tax collectors and the prostitutes, those who believe Jesus is the Son of God (Matthew 21:31-32)
- Those who actively love God and love their neighbor (Mark 12:28-34)
This is not an exhaustive list; there is so much more to learn about the Kingdom of God! I can’t wait for what Pastor Aaron has for us this morning.
