As we began our worship sermon series this past Sunday, I can’t help but pause today and consider the current revival happening at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. What started out as a regular chapel service for students last Wednesday has become an ongoing worship service with people now coming from all over the country to join in a movement of the Holy Spirit.
“After the benediction, the gospel choir began to sing a final chorus—and then something began to happen that defies easy description. Students did not leave. They were struck by what seemed to be a quiet but powerful sense of transcendence, and they did not want to go. They stayed and continued to worship. They are still there.”

Psalm 85:6-7
Will you not revive us again,
that your people may rejoice in you?
7 Show us your unfailing love, Lord,
and grant us your salvation.
Acts 2:17-18
In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
Psalm 24:3-6
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god.
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord
and vindication from God their Savior.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face, God of Jacob.
Psalm 27:4-5, 6b-8,13-14
4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
6b at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the Lord.
7 Hear my voice when I call, Lord;
be merciful to me and answer me.
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
13 I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
Lord, may our worship be filled with your Holy Spirit! We seek your face, Lord. Revive us this day as we humble ourselves in prayer. We need a move!
Mountains are still being moved
Strongholds are still being loosed
God we believe ‘cuz yes we can see it
That wonders are still what You do
Bodies are still being raised
Giants are still being slain
God we believe yes we can see it
That wonders are still what You do
We are here for You
Come and do what You do
We are here for You
Come and do what You do
We set our hearts on You
Come and do what You do
‘Cuz we need a move
We need a move —Tasha Cobbs
